Join us for an opening event like no other. Celebrating a new and fiercely exciting season and the World Premiere of The Book of Life by Odile Gakire Katese. We're opening up our space like never before with hidden gems like the prop shop on full display. Expect a riveting performance by the Swift Current singers and energetic DJ sets by JAYEMKAYEM & Ace Dillinger all night. Not to mention free Rwandan/Congolese food (in celebration of The Book of Life), a cash bar and chance to meet members of the growing Canadian Stage family.

Let's eat, drink and dance the night away as we celebrate a new season of contemporary Canadian performing arts!

Admission is free.

Accessibility Information
The lobby and rehearsal hall are both wheelchair accessible. The prop shop is not, as it’s up a flight of stairs.

🎵 Swift Current Singers
Swift Current Singers is a group of four women from different nations that perform and teach traditional Indigenous hand drumming.

🎵 Jayemkayem
Jayemkayem is a DJ and creative consultant currently based in Toronto. She has performed in cities all over the globe—from New York to London to Jakarta, playing alongside names such as Venus X, Virgil Abloh, Boi-1da and more. In addition to DJing, Jayemkayem runs independent record label Bare Selection alongside her partner Freeza Chin and is the co-founder of community radio station and music discovery platform, ISO.

🎵 Ace Dillinger
In the Toronto music scene lies a world of creative individuals who are transcending the experience of nightlife sound—Ace Dillinger is one of them. She's played some of Toronto's biggest parties; JERK, High Power, YesYesY'all, RUDE and festivals such as, Wayhome, Inside Out, Field Trip and TIFF. Selections from House to Baile Funk to underground club music seamlessly mixed with nostalgic Hip Hop & R&B. Sharing good vibes and great music is exactly what continues to inspire Ace.”
