New Moon Arts Collective in association with Folxwagon are hosting a 2-day public community clothing and arts materials swap for LGBTQ+ BIPOC identifying peoples. Through this event we aim to foster support and connection between members of overlapping communities through the sharing of the materials that help us create and express our identities, opinions, and feelings.
277 August Ave , 2nd floor
Friday Dec. 7 5pm-9pm
Saturday Dec. 8 12pm-6pm
Folks are free to bring in as many items as they wish and take home as many item as they wish. You do NOT have to bring in anything if you aren't able to or don't want to - you are still free to take items home. We would like to remind everyone to be mindful of the needs of others'. We encourage cis folks to donate items to the event but to refrain from taking any as this is an event meant to prioritize our trans, nonbinary, and other marginalized friends. Clothing/items will be spread out around the room and folks can browse, try things on, or just hang out. Items that are not taken by the end of the event will be donated to charity (TBA)
The venue is located in Kensington Market, next to El Trompo and is on the 2nd floor. *this is unfortunately not an accessible venue*
Donations will be accepted December 5 & 6 at the venue and also at the event. Only clean, washed clothing /accessories/ shoes will be accepted. Art/ craft / design / sewing / creative making materials welcome.
