Toronto’s Trans March is officially one of the largest, most exciting events in the world!
Official description and information below:
Church Street at Hayden Street
Rally 7:00 PM, March 8PM
Join us at the intersection of Church and Hayden Streets as we make our way along Bloor
Street, south on Yonge and east on Carlton to Allan Gardens.
The Trans March Grand Marshal for 2018 is Yasmeen Persad.
As a Trans activist for the past 15 years, Toronto is lucky to have her. Yasmeen Persad is a trans woman from the Caribbean who works at the 519 in the Education and Training Department as a facilitator delivering workshops around trans issues.
As if that wasn’t enough, she also works at Women college Hospital as Research Assistant on the TWIRI project Trans Women and Hiv Research Initiative.
Trans is an umbrella term that refers to all of the identities within the gender identity spectrum,
which includes but is not limited to community members who identify as transgender,
transsexual, transvestite, genderqueer, gender-fluid, gender independent, non-binary, third
gender, two-spirit and bi-gender.
