With their big move to the village this year, Glad Day Book Shop has brought a new vibe to Church Street. Hosting fantastic events, great food, great drinks, and bringing the community a watering hole filled with some of the best works of queer writers and artists in print. I know it can be difficult to walk in and try to find a title that really tickles your fancy so I picked 10 titles that should keep everyone company whilst enjoying the environment Glad Day has created for us

What see and do at Toronto's Naked Heart Festival

It stands to reason the world’s largest LGBTQ literary festival will be presented by Glad Day Bookshop. The oldest queer bookshop on the planet presents Naked Heart — An LGBTQ Festival of words. This three day festival is packed with book launches, workshops, panel events and, most importantly, parties at Glad Day’s spanking new multi-purpose space at 499 Church Street.

BUDDIES 2016/17 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

Buddies in Bad Times Theatre always delivers some good oooo's and ahhh's with a new season of theatre. Sometimes they win Dora Awards, sometimes they throw massive parties on a Saturday night, and sometimes they change lives and minds with groundbreaking queer theatre. 

They are an essential thread in the city's arts and theatre scene, a much needed stage and voice and thanks to the team, staff, queen Patricia and artistic director Evalyn Parry, they've got one hell of a new season.


IN/FUTURE QUEER HIGHLIGHTS

If you've never been to Ontario place now is the time to go! Until now, the West island area of Ontario place has been closed since 2012 but has reopened from Sept. 15-25 for the immersive art extravaganza known as the in/future festival.
