"The Pan Am Path, has partnered with one of Toronto's most unique and innovative spaces, The Bentway, for a one-day, multigenerational event that explores the historical significance of carnival season through traditional performance, storytelling and visioning for the future using new technologies including virtual reality and 3D printing.
The highlight of the event features:
Viey la cou, a traditional masquerade of Ole Mas characters led by actor, director and storyteller, Rhoma Spencer.
The performance will take guests through an engaging performance of Caribbean traditions complete with an upbeat rhythm section by Hornman International.
Future visions of carnival will be explored through new mediums including a display of 3D printed costumes by the Inkwell Project, a joint partnership with SugaCayne Designs and Ryerson University's Design Fabrication Zone (DFZ).
