“QUEER MEET CUTE: A New Inclusive Mixer & Show Centring Non-Binary, Trans, and Pansexual Folks
💕 Come find yourself a date or a mate at the world's oldest surviving LGBTQ bookstore! 💕
Looking for companionship, courtship, and/or consensual fun with like-minded queers but without judgement or gendered expectations? Log off the dating apps and come out to QUEER MEET CUTE, a new one-of-a-kind queer mixer that brings together:
👥 SPEED MEET genderfree speed dating/networking
🌹 THE MATCHELOR, a dragged up revival of the Dating Game meets Match Game (think "Snatch Game of Love," but we did it first!), and
🎭 STUNNING PERFORMANCES by local queer artists!
3️⃣ Is Three a Crowd? 3️⃣
March is the third month of the year and this will be the third standalone edition of Queer Meet Cute. If good things come in threes, then we're in luck! In addition to a more relaxed SPEED MEET structure, we're going to twist things up and encourage Speed Meeters to meet in groups of three.
Curious to break off the chains of hegemonic monogamy, or at least see how this experiment turns out? Come see for yourself—the fun starts at 7:30p.m. SHARP!
Hosted by Fay Ruse, Toronto’s quirky, friendly multimedia queen and fellow non-binary queer, this event centres those looking for queer friends and connections outside of gendered, binaristic, and/or strictly monogamous assumptions.
There is a $5 or Pay What You Can cover charge to participate, and please don't forget to tip your hardworking performers!
This event is a sobriety-positive space, and a variety of coffee, tea, and mocktails will be available for our alcohol-free guests! Glad Day is also an accessible space, with an accessible all-gender washroom on the ground floor.
In the spirit of feeling safe being our full, authentic selves, absolutely no form of oppressive behaviour will be tolerated. Racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, body shaming, serophobia, and ableism have no place at Glad Day or at Queer Meet Cute. As with any social activity, the keyword is CONSENT, so please seek consent from fellow guests, staff, and performers before getting into their personal space.
