Tallulah’s is so excited to present a new @oridaganjazz jazz series starting it off right with: ELTON JAN!

The queen of rock and roll tributes, Janet Whiteway is back with another iconic turn…“Elton Jan” the music of Elton John live on stage!

What do you get when you mix live piano, a Toronto rock icon, killer live vocals and one fabulous pair of shades… You get the music of Elton John performed live onstage by Toronto legend Janet Whiteway. So come on tiny dancer, don’t go breakin’ my heart. It’s time to crocodile rock. And if you’re still standing, maybe she’ll play Your Song.

Singer/musician Janet Whiteway has been a fixture in the Toronto Queer scene since the late 80’s and she’s got this great tribute show in tow! From playing keys and singing backup vocals for the Elaine Dark Band at The Rose, Slacks, Crews, Tango, The Charlotte Room, and Pope Joan (remember that time before condos…) to behind the piano at Trax playing showtunes at the piano bar.

She is also an accomplished singer/songwriter with two full length albums, was a keyboardist/vocalist in Disco Dyke Divas, and musical director/keyboardist/singer in, not one but two Prince Tributes, “Princess” and “Bless Your Purple Heart”. She currently plays in, yes not one but two David Bowie tributes,” I Will Be King”, and “The Bowie Lives”, in the Funkalicious “Grace”, an all-female funk/R&B/Soul band.

This year Janet is bringing red hot piano and killer live vocals to the Buddies stage with “Elton Jan” – the music of Elton John. So come on tiny dancer, don’t go breakin’ my heart. It’;s time to crocodile rock!
