Fire Fete!

Fire Fete - the first of a bi-monthly dance gathering for QT2SBIPOCS and our friends, happening Saturday March 29th at Glad Day Bookshop! Portion of funds will be donated to mutual aid in Falasteen!

All of our people dance to grieve, to feel, to connect with our bodies and each other, this party is born out a need to bring back the “come as you are”, “dancing as liberation” vibe to our lives and in Toronto. This party is for us, by us. It’s Queer, fiercely unapologetic in ensuring that all us QT2SBIPOC gets to take up space and vibe together.

Join us on Saturday March 29th from 9pm-12:30am (we are truly ending at 12:30am so, come EARLY) at Glad Day to dance to all our peoples music. From Pow Wow Step, Soca, Dancehall, Afro-beats, Dembow, Reggaeton, Moombahton, Arabic/SWANA, Bollywood, Chutney, Salsa + more.

We will have Amina, a badass organizer from Palestine join us throughout the dancing to talk to us about pink washing, the ongoing fight for a liberated Palestine and reminding us of our collective power.

Deets to know:
- Masks are HIGHLY encouraged, we will have some at the front desk and will also have air filters going! (If you have symptoms plz stay home!)
- There will be chairs available for folks to sit if needed and we will be ending right at 12:30 to ensure folks don’t miss the last train home.
- While we are fundraising and want to pay our speakers and DJs, we don’t want $ to be a barrier, it’s PWYC and no one will be turned away! If you have more, plz give more!

Why fire? Because it’s Aries season. Because fire honours, challenges & forces us to ignite the power we collectively have. Because as we fight and grieve, we must also feel that joy and connection that our music and bodies offer us! Every party will honour the season it’s in. Our next party is happening in May with a whole other line up of DJs, vibes and focus, so make sure to join us this March to get your fix until then!
