Next month is Black History month! After the Black Liberation Ball 3: Afrofuturism, I want to share the gift of film & black queer history with all of you! I plan to connect and reignite the passion and power of ballroom history with a community screening of the film;
“Paris is burning”!
Rooted in the Ballroom scene, the critically acclaimed film/documentary of the late 90’s ballroom climate, and its creation as a whole, has both a beautiful but tumultuous history!
I guarantee that EVERY WALKER, and every spectator of our current scene will see themselves in the on screen persona’s. Or at the very least, be moved by the artistry of that time, whether you’ve seen the film or not!
With that said, Wednesday February 12th 7:00PM-10:00PM at It’s OK* Studio’s, I would like to host you all and take a look at where ballroom has been, and where it’s going!
