If there had been a queer bookshop near me when I was growing up, I might not have waited until my late twenties to figure out I was queer (and might have actually followed up with one of those girls I crushed on or even made out with while I was “straight”).

Glad Day Bookshop is in trouble. The pando + exorbitant Toronto prices mean it’s at threat of eviction, and so we’re holding a fundraiser! At the Bookshop itself (499 Church) on the evening Monday July 29th (aka a week and a half) you can hear stories that are alternately very beautiful and very funny from Ted Morris @dogtorted, Sally Hakim @hakimth3dream, Lamia Gibson @lamiagibson.healthdetective , Anto Chan @antopunfu and Rico Rodriguez @ricotell . If you can’t make it, spreading the word (or even donating by buying a ticket or hitting donate on Glad Day’s website) is a great way to support. If you *can come, it’ll be one of the best evenings of your whole entire year. Tickets from truestoriestoronto.com or link in my bio!

What do you want your memoirs to say about this Summer? Is it that you did at least one thing to expand your brain and warm your soul? Thought so :)
