31 MARCH 2024 – We’re Funny That Way Queer Comedy and Music festival returns for its first full festival since the pandemic shutdown!

Festival founder and host Maggie Cassella has put together one excitingly diverse group of performers including stand-ups, singers, sketch comics, burlesque performers, character comics, and storytellers!  “We are PUMPED to be back full bore showcasing queer talent, raising money for our foundation The Rainbow Charity Network, and spreading joy!”

THE UNGALA SPECIAL BONUS!  Actor, jazz singer, and comedian LEA DELARIA (The Blacklist, Girls 5 Eva, Awkwafina, Orange is the New Black) headlines THE UNGALA which opens the fest on Wednesday May 29! She’s joined by additional special guest the hilarious Carolyn Taylor (I Have Nothing, Baroness Von Sketch), in this in this whirlwind showcase giving you a taste of the festival talent! (This ticket also comes with a fest VIP pass.)

Then come see twelve shows over three nights starring (in order of appearance): Sam Sferrazza (stand-up), Broadsway (quintet starring Heather Bambrick, Julie Michaels, Diane Leah), Bee Bertrand and Paul Hutcheson (story-telling), introducing Antoine L Collins (jazz with trio), From Montreal with Love introducing Sloan Kooshan, Rose Ingrid Benjamin, and starring Martha Chaves (stand-up), Karmic Entanglements: A comedy show by Aastha Lal (stand-up), “Screaming About Trans People for Attention” starring James Tison (stand-up), “Laugh Out Loud” a Tricia Black (Pretty Hard Cases) sketch, improv, and musical comedy show, “The Reclusive Chanteuse – A comedy show by Brandon Ash Mohammed (stand-up), Marga Gomez in “Swimming with Lesbians” (character comedy), “Comedy in Colour” starring Karen Williams (stand-up), and our closing show, an evening of male burlesque presented by Hollywood Jade!

Festival tickets are offered on a sliding scale $0 – $50. The UNGALA tickets are $360 each or $3600 for a “table” (there are no tables it’s an ungala!) of 12. Gala ticket buyers receive a TAX RECEIPT for the majority of the ticket price.  100% of our proceeds go to The Rainbow Charity Network.
