Join us for our second cohort of our 2SQTBIPOC Intergenerational Storytelling Book Club. This is an intergenerational space for 2SQTBIPOC (2 Spirit, Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) communities to exchange experiences and viewpoints through 2SQTBIPOC literature to foster solidarity.
This group will meet on Saturdays from April 5 to 26 at The 519 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is facilitated by Nancy Cooper, from the Chippewas of Rama First Nation. She is an educator, editor and Children's author. She lives in Toronto with her wife and twin sons.
Nancy will take us through the books Braiding Sweetgrass and The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer. These books combine Robin’s Indigenous wisdom with her background as a botanist to discuss what abundance and the Earth’s gifts mean for all of us as connected people.
Registration is required. Older adults are encouraged to apply. Visit the link in bio on instagram.
